HAPPY NATIONAL SIBLINGS DAY!
This week our nation celebrated National Siblings Day. Happily– through the commissions of children’s oil portraits, we at Art Gallery Originals are reminded of loving brother/sister relationships and every combination thereof, on a regular basis.
In our fifteen years, we have worked with clients who wanted paintings with multiple subjects, an oil portrait with all the children arranged together. A lovely visual of loving sibling harmony. Even when a family selects to have portraits done individually of each child—we are reminded of siblings in this circumstance as well—-as often when the oil portrait of one child is delivered, it’s time to begin on the portrait commission of the younger brother or sister.
Often, families with several children consequently go through the oil portrait commission process multiple times. Our clients sometimes have a clear idea about the details of the portraits they want to commission. But often, clients have questions. One client wondered if the portraits of her three children all had to have the same specifications. She wondered if she could commission oil portraits of different size and background selection to best suit each child.
“Of course you can,” was our reply. After all, this is art and the beauty of art is — there are no rules. What Art Gallery Originals can offer families interested in commissioning fine oil portraits of their children is our experience. Over the last 15 years, we have worked with clients on over 1,000 children’s oil portraits.
A strategy that has worked well time after time, is not to take the commission process too seriously. We encourage clients to have fun and let what is natural for your child and your family be the guideline for all your portrait specification decisions.
Art Gallery Originals has a wealth and breadth of experience making portrait specification decisions. Let us offer our expertise. Please let us know how we can assist you with the commission of a lovely oil portrait of your children, either together or individually. Cheers to brotherly and sisterly love.
